
CRA Management and Resourcing
Before my transition to a contract Clinical Research Associate (CRA), I worked for a sponsor that employed a team of contract CRAs. Being the only permanent CRA on the team at that time, I utilized my position and expertise to serve as the lead CRA for a group of seven CRAs. In this capacity, I oversaw and tracked the monitoring activities for each contract CRA involved in the project. This was in addition to managing my full site load and providing backup monitoring support to any CRA in need.
Faced with personal time constraints, I developed monitoring metrics to manage the clinical monitoring team more efficiently. By leveraging these metrics, I was able to schedule strategic meetings with the monitors, ensuring they received the necessary support and that the project milestones were met.
